Staying for two nights in a double room with an inland view was a delight. The building was in excellent condition, reflecting its vintage charm, and maintenance was clearly a priority, contributing to a warm atmosphere. The friendly and professional staff provided exceptional service, making meals like regional bread a real highlight. the single lift was somewhat outdated, which might be an issue needing quicker access.

Exceptional staff and facilities
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, with the staff being particularly friendly and attentive. The dining options were excellent, with fresh and high-quality meals, especially the breakfast served each morning. It was also a pleasant surprise to enjoy access to the beautiful outdoor heated pool. I felt a bit let down by the lack of a fridge in the room and noticed that the bathroom could use some more space for comfort.

The Belmont in Sidmouth caught my attention right from the start. The parking was super convenient, definitely a plus. The gardens at the back provided a peaceful oasis. perfect for unwinding with a drink. I opted for a superior garden room, and it was worth the upgrade. Spacious and nicely appointed. The staff really stood out for their friendly and attentive service, particularly at breakfast. Enjoyed the meals. some standout dishes impressed. a bigger bathroom would be appreciated next time. it felt cramped especially when brushing teeth. The lack of a mini-bar or fridge was a letdown too. I also noticed the dress code, which felt a bit formal compared to the overall vibe of the place. Finally, some parts of the facility seemed to show their age, which can detract from the luxury feel the hotel aims for. I would return despite the points mentioned as the positives outweighed the negatives.
